Sign tardy log and place admit slip in the folder.
Take your seat and prepare for class.
Being tardy 3 times (unexcused), your teacher will call your parents or guardians.
Being tardy 5 times (unexcused), you will get a referral to the office.
Getting Attention ( Teacher)
The teacher may use a variety of methods to get the students attention. When you hear the desk bell ring, STOP whatever you are doing, stop talking, and listen attentively for further instructions.
Getting Attention (Students)
Whether you are asking a question or contributing to the class discussion, raise your hand and wait to be called on. DO NOT call out teacher’s name. DO NOT yell out in class. DO NOT get out of your seat. Silently wait to be recognized by teacher.
Note: We will use hand signals in class to get teacher’s attention.
Pencil Sharpener
Prepare a pen and a pencile for class.
Pencils should be sharpened before you come to class. Students are required to have their own personal pencil sharpener. The pencil sharpener must have a cover. Students will not interrupt class to use the class pencil sharpener.
Students are expected to bring several pencils to class.
If you need to borrow a pencil from your teacher, you need to earn it get it. (perfect attendance, perfect conduct, finish all the work on time, and followed all the instruction in two weeks. )
Disposing of Trash
Disruptions during class take away from the class learning. Therefore, DO NOT raise your hand to throw trash in the garbage can during the class.
Keep trash at your desk until the end of class. (1. Place it on the corner of your desk, and I will come by and pick it up. 2. Throw it in the garbage on your way out of the classroom.)
Don’t stand up with out permission to throw your trash.
Homework
1. It is essential to your education that you complete all required homework assignments. Homework will be assigned weekly. Homework is an excellent time to practice the skills learned in the classroom. Students who complete homework correctly ALWAYS pass! Homework will account for a percentage of the students’ grade.
2. Students will need to have access to a computer and Internet to complete required homework assignments. (Library)
3. Students need to leave a voice message on teacher google voice phone to practice speaking assignments, It’s free and convenient. If you don’t have a cell phone, you can use the phone in the classroom or talk to Mrs. Harris directly.

Cell phone
1. Students are not allowed to use cell-phone in the class.
2. Cell-phone should be invisible in class.
3. Practice sending google voice message after school, not at any classes.
Turning in Assignments
All class assignments will be taken up by class helpers, and placed into the front dest for the assigned class.
All students are required to set up a google email(gmail)account, assignments will be sent through email.
Absences and Make-Up Work
1. Students returning from an excused absence(s) are required to still complete all classwork and assignments. Class notes can be copied from a fellow classmate. Students will have 2 days to make-up work and turn it in. All make up work must be given to the teacher.
2. Unexcused absence need parent’s phone call explain the reason.

NOTE: It is the students’ responsibility to get make-up work and turned in.
How do you sit?
Every one will have a assigned seat, don’t leave your seat without permission.
Don’t put your head on the desk, if you are sick, inform the teacher ahead of time.
Use appropriate language
1. Students are required to use polite languages in our Chinese classroom.
2. Any inappropriate language should not be heard around our Chinese community.
When You Have Completed Your Assignment
Finish classwork early means you can do the work faster than some students, but it doesn’t mean you finish the work perfect and you have known 100% of the lesson.
Disrupting others is not an option. We will maintain an environment conducive to learning at all times.
Do not raise your hand to announce that you have completed your assignment, the teacher will notice you have finished and remind you to choose the following options for early finishers to do.
There are many things for you to choose to do once you finish your work: review the notes, practice the flashcards on quizlet, review the Chinese characters, help other students, practice your speaking presentation, ask teacher what can you do to help her,etc, any work you come up with about China and Chinese culture and language.
Exiting the Classroom
Please remain in your seat, until you are dismissed by the teacher.
The classroom must be clean to the satisfaction of the teacher. (You are responsible for your area!)
The teacher dismisses the class, not the bell nor other students.
